Kansas State Flag
The state seal of Kansas, shown in the middle of the flag, shows activity during early pioneering days. Covered wagons are moving west, a farmer plows his field, a steamboat is sailing on the Kansas river and Indians are hunting buffalo. The thirty-four stars represent Kansas as the thirty-fourth state to join the union. There is also a sunflower because Kansas is known as the "Sunflower State".
