Georgia State Flag
Georgia's flag is relatively new, adopted in 2003. It is patterned after the First Confederate Flag, known as the Stars and Bars. The thirteen stars represent the original thirteen states, Georgia was the fifth to join the union. The state seal has three pillars representing the three branches of government, executive, judicial and legislative. A soldier with a drawn sword symbolizes defense of the constitution. "In God We Trust" appears under the pillars.
